Functional description
Taken together, our findings provided evidence that lncRNA MEG3 acts as the internal competitive RNA of miR-7b. When lncRNA MEG3 was downregulated, the binding of miR-7b to NLRP3 increased and the lncRNA NLRP3 expression was inhibited, thus resulting in improved LPS-induced ALI (Figure 6). Our study proposes novel biological markers for the treatment of ALI, which could potentially provide a new perspective regarding the theoretical basis of the NLRP3 mechanism. However, our study was performed based on the model of LPS-induced ALI in cells and mice, with the clinical effects of the lncRNA MEG3/miR-7b/NLRP3 axis in LPS-induced ALI treatment still largely unknown.
