Functional description
In this paper, we show that their regulation is mediated by the highly abundant viral transcript m169. It targets miR-27a/b via a single binding site in its 3'-UTR, which can be efficiently retargeted to other cellular and viral miRNAs, enabling the efficient knock-down of individual miRNAs of interest. Degradation of miR-27a/b is preceded by its 3'-tailing and -trimming.
