| Title | Eomesodermin-expressing T-helper cells are essential for chronic neuroinflammation |
| Expression | up-regulation |
| Risk type | Disease risk |
| Result | Proportions (%) of Eomes+CD4+ T cells among CD4+ T cells in RRMS were not significantly different from HCs,the % of Eomes+ T cells was remarkably increased in patients with SPMS.The increase of Eomes+ cells in SPMS was CD4+ T-cell-specific and was not observed in CD4 T cells .Moreover, proportions of Eomes+CD4+ T cells were further enriched in the CSF from patients with SPMS as compared with corresponding blood samples, indicating their propensity for moving to the site of autoimmune inflammation. These results indicate that Eomes+CD4+ T cells may also play a key pathogenic role in SPMS. |
