| Mechanism/Pathway | IL-10 is an important cytokine regulator of the immune system, secreted mainly by macrophages and T lymphocytes. It is involved in the immune response to infectious and autoimmune diseases.IL-10 has an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing the production of immunoactive molecules (TNF-α, IFNγ, and IL-12) and inhibiting antigen-specific cytotoxic T cells.Since IL-10 may have an inflammatory function, it activates B cells and promotes autoantibody production. In the absence of IL-2, it inhibits T-cell apoptosis and promotes T-cell growth . It has been shown to increase the productivity of IL-10-producing cells. |
