| Detail Description |
miR-142-3p, miR-21, miR-23a, miR-338-5p, miR-886-3p,and miR-886-5p were upregulated dramatically in grade III astrocytomas (high-grade astrocytomas), whereas miR-182, miR-585, and miR-663 were upregulated mainly in grade I and II astrocytomas (low-grade astrocytomas). These expression profiles were different from that of miR-26a, miR-324-5p, and miR-491-3p, which were upregulated in almost all grades of astrocytomas. Interesting results came from a set of miRNAs, miR-107, miR-124, miR-128a/128b, miR-138, miR-141*, miR-149, miR-181a, miR-181b, miR-302b, and miR-376a, whose expression were significantly downregulated in every grade of astrocytomas. By quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis, the downregulated expression profiles of miR-107, miR-124, miR-138, and miR-149 in grade I-IV astrocytomas were confirmed, and their expression levels were negatively correlated with the WHO grade. |
